MORPHOLOGICAL FEATURES OF THE LUNG AND BRONCHIAL TREE IN CHRONIC ALCOHOLISM
Main Article Content
Abstract
Pneumonia and chronic respiratory failure are the most common complication
of alcohol consumption. In an animal experiment, it was found that excessive
consumption of ethanol leads to dysfunction of the mucociliary apparatus and to
dysfunction of alveolar macrophages, which will lead to impaired clearance of the
lower respiratory tract, and is the cause of chronic respiratory failure.
